Reasons You Shouldn’t Fall In Love with Your Dreams

Written by Heather Richards

Dreams are important to our existence. They are what drive us forward, provide us with the hope and strength to go after the things we want in life. You might dream of having a family, a big house, or a successful career. While most people believe it takes passion to realize your dreams, a new school of thought suggests that loving them too much can backfire or hinder the manifestation process. Here are three reasons why Dr. Eric Amidi says you shouldn’t fall in love with your dreams:

It’s the attitude of needing. In many of his writings, Dr. Eric Amidi suggests that feeling needy for a desire isn’t healthy for the manifestation process because it makes you believe that your life will be over if you don’t get that one thing. Instead, Dr. Eric Amidi says that you should adopt an attitude of want, not need. An attitude of wanting shows that you’re confident and can deal with whatever life throws your way.

It makes the dream unattainable. Another reason you shouldn’t fall in love with your dreams is because it puts the dream on a pedestal. Once you place a dream on a pedestal it becomes unreachable, unattainable.

It makes you believe the dream is more important than your happiness. Finally, falling in love with your dreams can also change your focus on what is truly important in life: your own happiness. Dr. Eric Amidi says that there should never be a dream or desire that is more valuable than you, or your own happiness.
